I LOVE this class so muchhh!
I can say that this is my favourite class in De Anza College.
I have learn a lot in this class.
I enjoy so much in the final TV Production project.
At first I was afraid that it was too hard for me to be an audio control.
In the control room, i was so nervous!
However, I could do it, and I LOVE OUR TV SHOW SO MUCH (*LOL)
It was a really unforgettable experience :]
I miss my classmates and this class so much!

This is about Jared Diamond wrote a New Yorker magazine article that falsely accused 2 New Guinea tribesmen of murder and other crimes.

I think there is a lot of news which reported falsely. If the reporter or writer do the research and cite the resources they have used, it is much easier for them to let us know the truth and prevent a lot of arguments.

On Wikipedia.org, it lists 170 social networking websites. For most of the websites I known have been listed. I have never heard of Italki.com. It is an online destination for language learning. I use social networking website for keep in touch with my family and friends in my home country. I usually use Facebook and write blogs. One thing that the social networking websites really help me out is that I could find my kindergarten’s classmates who I lost the contact before through the Facebook.

First heard the recording from:
the radio show of my one of my favorite artist, KinKi Kids which form by Domoto Koichi and Domoto Tsuyoshi.

This is the solo work of Domoto Tsuyoshi. I bought the CD Ver. of the single. After that, I changed the format into MP3 which I can listen it by using my iPhone.

4.10.2009 was Tsuyoshi’s 30th birthday and he also released his solo album in the same day. He started his new solo project this year. He changed his name every time if he starts a new project [堂本剛→ENDLICHERI☆ENDLICHERI→244 ENDLI-x→剛 紫].


For this single and the album, all the songs and music were written by himself, most of the musical instruments were played by himself in the CDs. Besides, Tougi Hideki who played the Japanese classical music which called Gagaku, he helped Tsuyoshi to play the musical instrument of Gagaku for the song. This song is so touching; I really love the lyrics and the melody. It is about the beautiful sky from his home-NARA in Japan. The above video was filmed in NARA which is a beautiful place in Japan.(: Domoto Tsuyoshi is one of my favourite artists. He can always write beautiful and touching music pieces. For his other solo project - ENDLICHERI☆ENDLICHERI, I really love the FUNK style so much.<3

Magazines

Name of magazine: Play-Doh lover ♥♥
Concept: This is a magazine which teaches the children how to use Play-Doh to make different objects. This magazine is used to train children’s creativities. Also, parents can follow the steps of the magazine to make different funny objects with their children. There may be more communication between children and parents,
Reader: 5-12 years old for both boys and girls who are interested to play Play-Doh.
I don’t think other magazines serving this demographic.
5 advertisers: Toys, story books, video games, theme park, extracurricular activities
5 premier issues: 1- What’s new about Play-Doh product.
2- How can we mix the special color of the Play-Doh.
3- How can we use Play-Doh to create different objects (such as animals, food, etc.)

5- To Parents: How to communicate with your children in different ways.
The cover will be colorful that it can catch children’s attention. The photo of objects that made by Play-Doh and a large title on top.

Books

Many books have influenced me as I love reading different kinds of books. It is hard for me to choose the best three books which had the most influence on me.

1)The Minds of Billy Milligan by Daniel Keyes

2)The Milligan Wars by Daniel Keyes
I am currently reading The Milligan Wars now after reading The Minds of Billy Milligan this summer. However, I haven’t finished reading “The Milligan Wars”, I cannot give any comment on this book.
Billy Milligan, who was the first person diagnosed with multiple personality disorder to raise such a defense. After having committed several felonies, psychologists diagnosed Milligan with personality disorder. “The Minds of Billy Milligan” is a book about the 24 personalities in Milligan and why he was arrested, “The Milligan Wars” is a book about how Milligan fight for his right and how he was being treated in the hospital.
I was shocked after finished reading this book because I cannot imagine how Milligan’s life was in his childhood. This is a real case in U.S.A. These two books remind me that in this society, there are different kinds of people we should give help. We should not label them. Everyone is equal in this society.

3)An Introduction to English-Chinese and Chinese-English Translation
As I want to be a translator in the future, I have read different books about the translation skills between English-Chinese/ Chinese-English/ Japanese-Chinese/ Chinese-Japanese.
It is the first book I read about the basic knowledge of translation between Eng-Chin. Also, there is a book for Jap-Chin translation, but I left my book in Hong Kong and I forgot the exact name of the book.
Although I have read different books about translation, these two books cover a lot of basic skills that how to translate words in better ways. They can help me how to start. Therefore, they had the most influence on me. I know that it is still a long way for me to be a professional translator, but I will try my best to fight for my dream.

Media Impact

I would like to propose a media research project based on” How violence TV shows affect teenagers”. I will divide a large group of teenagers into two groups. Then, I will let them watch 2 different videos, one is a video from a violence drama and the other one is about a video from National Geographic Channel. I predict that the group of teenagers which watch the violence video will become much more aggressive than the group who watch the clip from NGC. It may show that different types of TV shows may affect the behavior of the teenagers. The method I used for researching is laboratory experiment.

Media Autobiography

In the world, there are different types of mass media which affect our lives every moment. They are the channels of us to get information, news, knowledge, etc. The main 8 types of mass media are books, newspapers, magazines, movies, recordings, radio, television and internet. I need media to know things around me and the world, especially: books and internet.
Internet is becoming much more important than the past. It is the fastest way to spread the latest information compare with other 7 types of mass media. You can discuss and share different things through internet. You can always see different views from people around the world. Although internet becomes the main channel to update news and information, I still like reading books and newspaper every day. Beside I get use to them, it is hard for me to use computer for whole day. I can read my books or newspaper everywhere and every time, however I need to find a place to link me to the internet. It is a bit inconvinent. Also, the information in the internet is only data which cannot keep for a long time. I may lose the webpage or files easily in the internet. Books may not have these kind of problems. However, different kinds of media have their advantages.
I have a habit of listening to the radio, reading magazines and watching television shows and movies mainly in Hong Kong, Japan and USA. As i need to improve my Japanese and English, I need to read and listen more.
Different types of mass media are affecting our lives and world. They are developing in different ways rapidly. We cannot live without media if we need to communicate with people around you!
